Student exchange program with Schloss Gaienhoffen
A delegation of 23 students and 2 teachers from Ludwig Thoma Gymnasium in Prien am Cheimsee, Bavaria (Germany) visited Mayo College Girls’ School from 22nd October to 3rd Nov.2017. During their stay here, the delegation for acquainted with the functioning of a boarding school, hostels and classroom alike.
The student exchange program with Schloss Gaienhoffen enabled the students deepen their knowledge and strengthen International relationships. Students experience, to built new friendships, taking responsibility, respecting diversities in culture, and learning to tolerate the beliefs of others. Students were taken out of familiar surroundings and comfort zones and made to attend classes at Mayo College Girls’ School and Mayo College. They experienced playing Golf, Horse Riding, Rifle Shooting, Wall Climbing and Yoga. Apart from academics and sports they had the opportunity to learn folk dance and even visit places of historical importance like Nareli temple, Pushkar , Light and Sound show at Akbar fort, and so on. Amongst all this, there was learning of new dialect on either side that we believe would create a new era of friendship and bonding. Overall it was an enthralling and enriching experience.
