Riverrally
“A river is a magic thing, a magic, moving, living part of the very earth itself”
-Laura Gilpin
Indian rivers are at a dangerous level of depletion. Major perennial rivers are turning seasonal and minor rivers have already vanished. Studies estimate that by 2030 we will nearly have only 50% of the water for our survival.
Rally for rivers is a nationwide campaign aiming to create awareness to save water. This drive has been started by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. One very simple yet effective means to replenish these rivers is to create a kilometre-wide green cover on riversides. Everyone who consumes water has a stake in the campaign.
On 15th of September our school took part in the rally for rivers. A special assembly was conducted in school for rally for rivers. Our Principle addressed the children and staff creating awareness about the need to save rivers. We all together took a pledge to save our rivers for a better future and render our full support.
Anyone can give a missed call to 80009 80009. Each missed call will count towards- a public movement that will urge the government for a positive river policy by which our rivers can be saved.
