The Geography Society has been an integral part of the school. Geography is important, because it opens our eyes, a landscape is no longer a static figure , but a complete battleground of physical and human interactions. With technology of increasingly drawing the world closer together, it is important that the role of geography in helping the public in understanding this complex and unpredicted world is championed.
Creativity and participation are two vital actions which bring out the best in students. The Geography Society has been organizing a variety of activities involving students from the senior as well as junior school. Children have shown great interest in themes like ‘Plastic –Boon or Bane’, ‘Tourism’ ‘Smart cities of India’ and ‘Conservation of Water’. We have also conducted field trips to R.K Marble , Kishangarh , Ratan Textiles Jaipur , AMUL Anand , Narmada Sarovar Dam in order to provide first hand and practical information to the students of class XII . Our Geography Lab is beautifully maintained and is used by both teachers and students for enriching their knowledge.
The prime objective of these activities is to provide knowledge to the students about basic concepts of Geography. These activities infuse a sense of team spirit in the participating students and enables them to understand group dyanamics.
Students of Class IV enthusiastically exhibited their understanding of Geography through demonstrating their ideas on paper and presenting them verbally which displayed their vocal and creative talents.
The topics were given by Ms. Akanksha Rathore (HOD) keeping in view the relevance to syllabus. They were as follows:
