It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. Commission on the Status of Women

The Commission on the Status of Women(CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. It is instrumental in promoting women's rights, documenting the reality of women's lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women. Gender equality is essential for the achievement of human rights for all. Yet discriminatory laws against women persist in every corner of the globe. In all legal traditions many laws continue to institutionalize second class status for women and girls with regard to nationality and citizenship, health, education, marital rights, employment rights, parental rights, inheritance and property rights. These forms of discrimination against women are incompatible with women's empowerment. In this committee, we shall be discussing key issues faced by women of this world.

AGENDA: Women's Economic Empowerment

International Olympic Committee

Founded in 1894, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) serves as the governing body for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The committee is responsible for making decisions that range from selecting and removing athletic events, enlisting new rules to guarantee fair sportsmanship, and most importantly, determining the host city for each Olympic Game. Though the IOC strives to promote the values of Olympism in the global community, it has fallen short in recent years and consequently been under scrutiny for corruption surrounding the host city selection process and the state of human rights in host cities. Working as both national representatives and members of the IOC, delegates will be responsible for acting on the best interests of their country while working collectively to preserve and promote the 119-year-old Olympic legacy. The association strives to promote Olympism, or in other words the balanced combination of the body, will, and mind. It is the IOC's goal to incorporate a life composed not only of sport, but also culture and education. This committee would be a unique experience and would reveal many more aspects of sports to the delegates. Not many MUNs include committees that revolve around sports even though a sport has the potential to unite and divide. It is time to use sports as a tool for liberation.

AGENDA: The Olympic Bid for the Summer Olympics, 2032; and the Selection of Developing Countries as Olympic Host Nations.

His expertise revolves around establishment of clubs and societies and enabling smooth legacy transfers across academic batches.

Paris Peace Conference(Historic Crisis Committee)

The Paris Peace Conference was an international meeting convened in January 1919 at Versailles just outside Paris. The purpose of the meeting was to establish the terms of peace after World War. Though nearly thirty nations participated, the representatives of Great Britain, France, the United States, and Italy became known as the "Big Four." The "Big Four" dominated the proceedings which led to the formulation of the Treaty of Versailles, a treaty that articulated the compromises reached at the conference.

This particular conference of nations is considered one of the most important events in modern global history as it paved way for historic decisions such as formation of The League of Nations; identifying Germany and her allies as the aggressor and creating reparation timelines; creating and modifying international boundaries on grounds of ethnicity among few. Though we are aware of the impact these decisions had in the future, but simulating a historic committee might give us the privilege to look at these events through a different perspective.

The Freeze Date for this simulation is 17th January, 1919 and the events that have occurred as per 17th January, 1919 will be taken into account. The committee will convene on 18th January 1919.

The background guide will contain the first update upon which we will open debate.

International Press Corps

Founded in 1948, the United Nations Correspondents Association has a long history of providing representation and support to the members of the U.N. press corps. These journalists are an essential part of the way international politics operate in the modern world, acting as the link between the U.N. and the public. With the multitude of U.N. committees and assemblies making critical decisions towards current conflicts, contemporary issues, past wounds, and future possibilities, there has to be a way through which these can be shared. Press corps correspondents work tirelessly to disseminate the vital information related to these decisions in a fair and balanced manner to those who will be affected by these decisions.
