Webinar on “Mental Health Advocacy amongst Adolescents”
On 13th August 2021, the Psychology Society hosted an activity for psychology students of grades 11th and 12th. Ms Nishtha Narula, the lead counselling psychologist from the Department of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare, joined us as a resource person and conducted a webinar on “Mental Health Advocacy amongst Adolescents.” The webinar was extremely thought-provoking and tackled topics such as generational mental health and the stigmas surrounding mental health in our country. The interactive session generated awareness in our students about mental health and the preventive measures to face it. The takeaway from this session was significant to what psychology society is attempting to imbibe, i.e. make psychology accessible to everyone, and sensitise people through awareness and education.
