Workshop on the topic ‘Compassionate Communication’
As a part of the personal and professional development programs for the staff, Mayo College Girls’ School hosted a workshop by Mrs. Bhavna Paul, Director of the ‘Be Ahead’ organisation. Mrs. Paul has a a vast experience of 20 years in different areas of marketing, advertising and designing. She is a certified Soft Skills Trainer, self love & energy coach and POSH Trainer.
The workshop was organised on a very relevant topic in today’s times – ‘Compassionate Communication.’ Through various interesting activities the staff got an insight into different strategies of Non Violent Communication. The staff worked in collaboration for various activities to understand how positive use of language can transform their relationships and how listening to others was very important to resolve conflicts.
With simple techniques and activities the trainers guided the staff towards the following points:
• How positive use of language can transform their relationships.
• How to recognize and honour “what’s alive” in everyone, including themselves.
• Examples of how Nonviolent Communication helped resolve conflicts in relationships, in the school, in parenting, and during the most difficult times in life.
• Forgiving oneself and treating oneself with kindness.
