Dear Faculty Advisors and Delegates,
On behalf of the entire Mayo fraternity, it is my distinguished honor and pleasure to welcome you to the third annual session of the Mayo College Girls' School Model United Nations Conference, 2014.
After months of hard work by students, who have a passion for model UN and international affairs, MCGSMUN'14 promises to be a conference that draws students from the most prestigious and reputed institutions from across the Asian continent. Standing as a platform for both beginners and experienced delegates, it stimulates the personal and professional growth as future world leaders.
Featuring an eclectic approach this year, our committees are widely ranged, from the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice on Cyber Security to Specialized Committees like the Third Hague Conference. |
We approach MCGSMUN'14 with a revamped mission, to "aspire to inspire". Often it is the limitless power of the light present within us that frightens us more than the darkness. There have been times when we have failed, but we must not confuse ourselves with that person. We must always remember that talent is cheap, but it is character- our motive, what moves us, what drives us, the spirit behind it-that gives us the strength to believe what others have doubted, and imagine a change for the better.
It is often said that if you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. So let's meet this April with a brave heart, a fierce mind and a free spirit as we aspire to inspire. I look forward to meeting you all. Shivranjani Kumari Singh
Keeping in mind the First World War Centenary, we encourage the youth to work together to maintain harmony and peace in the world. Our efforts will also be directed towards the alleviation of the downtrodden communities and welfare organizations.
