The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) was founded with the vision to spearhead heritage awareness and conservation in India. The idea of setting up Heritage Clubs in schools across the country began in 2002 with the motif of creating awareness and participation in heritage related activities among the students.
At Mayo College Girls’ School, every student who becomes a member of the INTACH society is motivated to participate in heritage conservation and to learn more about their local, national and natural heritage.
The students are taken for visits in and around the city which helps in creating awareness about the heritage and its significance.
