PROJECT VANCHIT
‘Be the change you want to see in the world’, – Mahatma Gandhi
The students of Mayo College Girls’ School embody these words from very early ages and continually prove that they are true change makers. Two of our students have attempted to materialise these words in their actions by founding Project Vanchit. Suhani Bansal and Amisha Varma of class 11 founded Project Vanchit. The Project aims at helping the lesser privileged children by providing them with holistic education. Amisha and Suhani have carried out various activities like quiz, dancing, painting, etc. with special emphasis on the education of young children. They have had two successful fundraisers during which they raised funds to have the walls and furniture of a government school in Muktsar, Punjab repainted and have also been able to provide 15 students with smartphones so that their education is not be disrupted due to the pandemic. The efforts by Suhani and Amisha have been recognised by the local media bodies too. They plan to be an organization for positive change in society and are extremely passionate about their future endeavors. We are proud of these young change-makers and look forward to seeing the impact they make on society in the future too.
