ABOUT MCGSMUN
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
In 2004, we had our first encounter with the concept of Model United Nations with the Delhi Public School MUN at the Delhi Habitat Center. Though brief, it revolutionized the outlook of the school for good and now, eleven years later, we proudly host the Fourth Session of the Mayo College Girls' School Model United Nations, from the 14th to 16th of April, 2015.
The First Session of the MCGS Model UN was held in 2012. With 5 Committees to offer, it was attended by over 147 delegates from schools all over the Indian Subcontinent. In the subsequent years, the franchise saw an increase in the number of delegates and grew to a 250 delegate affair in the 3rd Session. This Conference, the most ambitious till date, will not only host almost 300 Delegates from prestigious High schools and Junior Colleges from all over India and its Asian Neighbours, but is also offering a selection of 7 Committees that are assured to be not only challenging, but also a great platform for delegates to engage in fruitful deliberation.
Besides the committees, there will also be an optional Post Conference Tour for the delegates to tour the Historic City of Ajmer along with the neighbouring town of Pushkar, both of which have played key roles in shaping India's History.
This year we gather together to stand for those who cannot walk, to hear for those who cannot listen and to speak for the silent. This year we are 'Uniting for Peace' to take a stand for humanity and to find in our solidarity a sustainable world peace.
