DISEC
The first committee of the General Assembly is the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC).
DISEC deals with the issues regarding the promotion, establishment, and subsequent maintenance of global peace while simultaneously working to prevent weapons proliferation. According to Article 26 of United Nations Charter, DISEC's mandate is "to promote the establishment and maintenance of international peace and security with the least diversion for armaments of the world's human and economic resources."
Dikshant Malik
Dikshant is an engineer, having graduated from Manav Rachna International University. He has been participating in debates and Model UN Conferences since 2007 and has attended over 70 Model UN Conferences during this time. He also founded the Model UN Society in his college and has organized three annual conferences during his tenure.
He has also been associated with an event management company- CREW4EVENTS from his college days and has worked in various events like Auto Expo, Comedy Circus and KBC, the most notable among others. His love and skill for public speaking, found another outlet via his participation in several shows aired on his college radio network, Manav Rachna FM. He had been working with FIS Global Solutions after graduating from college and was successfully placed in Cognizant Technology Solutions, an offer he turned down to co-found The Dias.
