PRESS CORPS
MCGS MUN 2015 strongly believes in the the power of journalism. Press corps at the conference is simulating three global news agencies and upholding their distinct editorial policies. They are:-
- Al-Jazeera English
- Reuters
- The Guardian
This will be a press corps adhering to research and deliberative intent. We aim to provide the readers food for thought accompanied by well placed satire and intelligent humour. We are providing the voice and instruments of change to the readers. In the course of action we require people with aforementioned values and a penchant at learning. If you believe in these values, welcome aboard.
Pallav Kumar
Pallav Kumar, currently an individual political analyst and researcher in the field of Development Studies and a working consultant to several national think tanks and organizations, studies Aerospace Engineering for his graduation and has worked in tandem with many national and international corporations, whose connection with MUN goes back 8 years. Pallav has always been enthusiastic about international affairs, governance and policy and has participated in 45 MUNs in various disciplines, most of which have been as the Head of Press Corps. He believes that there aren't tools strong enough as journalism which can establish public opinion as an authoritative critique of contemporary deliberations. In this light he asserts that a UN conference without a deliberative and researched Press Corps is flawed in its inception, and thus he personally takes it as his goal in this MCGSMUN '15. Model UN has played a major influence in his life and has also given him friends and memories and travel opportunities that he will cherish for good. Besides MUNing, Pallav spends his free time reading, appreciating movies, listening to music and honing his culinary skills. He hopes that all the delegates in his committee will have an experience that they will cherish forever.
