CONVENER'S ADDRESS

Dear delegates and faculty advisors,

Right now, there is a child who is starving to death, there is a woman who is struggling amidst the walls of brutality, there are children who are being manipulated to pick up arms, there are people who are grappling for jobs and besides all this, we still find people living in the illusion of peace and harmony. We are so caught up with our own ambiguous notions that we have lost our sensitivity to things like death and war. These things are just animated headlines to us. Well, I too was confined by my own vivid fancies until I started MUNing. MUN has given me a platform to express my concern for the society, taught me the importance of compromise and to look at the same problem from eclectic perspectives. I've learnt how peace is more than just a thought or a state of mind and how desperately people crave for it.

Therefore, it is my distinct honour to welcome you to the fourth annual session of Model United Nations of Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer where every individual will be "uniting for peace". MCGSMUN has always been one of the most stimulating and the most invigorating conferences in the nation. Our constant pursuit of portraying excellence has always enabled us to endeavor into greater heights. This year we promise you a conference that is more encouraging, more exciting and more innovative than ever before. A conference infused with high intellect and widened horizons; here you will get the opportunity to interact with delegates from some the most prestigious schools not only in India but also its neighboring nations as well.
